In recent post processing of some of the images from my vacation last fall, I’ve noticed I tend to take a lot of images of structures and architectural elements. This gave me the idea to use architecture as a theme for my next assignment for my Words & Images workshop.
Saturday afternoon and maybe Sunday morning I am going to scope out some areas to take images near home. I am thinking of spending some time downtown, maybe around old market square. I am also considering heading to the east side maybe old Harrisburg. There’s always the Heights too. Galveston is not out of the question, but it’s on the remote side of possibilities.
Unfortunately I don’t have time to scope out the places ahead of time so I’ll make the best of it. Architecture is pretty much everywhere. Anyone else have any ides of great places for architecture?
Here’s a link to my pre-shoot worksheet, still in progress, for the assignment.
Downtown is my favorite for architectural shooting. I’m hopefully going to do a walk down parts of Washington Ave. one day because there are a lot of interesting looking elements on that street as well. I think you would also like the Montrose part of Westheimer around Brasil. Lots of interesting details there as well.
Those are some great ideas. I have some thoughts for the Assignment Houston January Theme too.
