Flash

Fill Flash – Fill in the shadows, don’t blast the subject with light.

  • Set the camera to manual  – meter and set the exposure manually
  • Turn on the flash
  • Start with a flash exposure compensation of -1 2/3
  • If the subject is too dark, increase the exposure. If too light, decrease the exposure.
  • Light subjects, increase flash exposure by +1(the light subject may fool the camera into underexposing the scene to compensate for the light subject and thereby underexposing the whites)

Best to have the flash off the camera.
